I spent 12 years battling addiction to crack and heroin, experiencing street homelessness and time in prison. However, Ive worked hard to rebuild my life, and that journey has shaped who I am today. Starting as a resident, I moved through the roles of volunteer and now support worker. This progression has taught me that each resident is a person with unique needs and potential. My lived experience is my greatest strength , allowing me to connect with residents on a empathetic level and show them that recovery and transformation are possible. One of my favourite sayings in recovery is, "Get out of the way of yourself", a reminder that we all have the power to overcome the barriers we place in our own paths. I'm passionate about helping others believe in their ability to rebuild their lives, just as i've done with mine.
