Externanal Facilitators at Lindale Recovery

External facilitators at Lindale Recovery

At our service, we believe in addressing both the physical and emotional needs of our residents as part of their recovery journey. That’s why we offer weekly group sessions led by two external facilitators who specialise in supporting the mind-body connection. These sessions help residents foster emotional creativity and physical well-being, key components of holistic recovery.

Yoga & Dance Fitness with Emma

Emma has been teaching yoga since 2017, bringing her passion for the practice to those who may not have easy access to it. Through her initiative, ‘The Long Stretch,’ she has taught in a variety of unique settings, from prisons to probation hostels. Emma is also the founder of Drum n Bounce, a dance fitness class set to drum & bass music, designed to energise and uplift participants. Since 2021, Emma has been sharing her diverse styles at Lindale, and likes to bring an element of all her styles to the sessions in the hope that something will resonate for everyone to support their journey in recovery.

Creative Writing with Hayley Frances

Hayley Frances, a poet from Birmingham, brings a therapeutic dimension to our weekly groups through creative writing. Hayley’s debut poetry collection, Administer the Laughing Gas, was published by VERVE Poetry Press in 2024, and she was recently appointed as the first Poet in Residence for Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Her work explores the psychology of creative writing and its use as a therapeutic medium.

"I believe that everyone should have the chance to recover and to live their best life"
